Which is a better destination for tourists this 2010? Thailand or the Philippines?
Question by John Marvin C: Which is a better destination for tourists this 2010? Thailand or the Philippines?
Just asking because I'm planning to spend my vacation somewhere.. Idon't know if I should stay here in the Philippines and go to our own toursit destinations or go to thailand?
Best answer:
Answer by Vz
Definitely Philippines because in Thailand is not safe. There are red protest going on in Bangkok, capital of Th, and many people including protesters and civilians have been killed. So Philippines is better. Unless there is a big storm or natural disaster in Philippines, and then Thailand is better. But if Malaysia or Singapore is on your option list, that would be better than Phil or Thai.

Private Villas In The Exotic Dream Destination Phuket
The kingdom of Thailand lies in the heart of Southeast Asia, making it a natural gateway to Indochina, Myanmar and Southern China. Its shape and geography divide into four natural regions : the mountains and forests of the North; the vast rice fields of the Central Plains; the semi-arid farm lands of the Northeast plateau; and the tropical islands and long coastline of the peninsula South.
Located 862 kilometers south of Bangkok is Phuket, Thailand's largest island, which is often dubbed as the pearl of the Andaman, or the pearl of the south. Its natural resources- rocky peninsular, limestone cliffs, white powdery beaches, tranquil broad bays and tropical in-land forests contribute to making it the South's wealthiest, busiest, most visited and most popular island and province.
Staying on the island is easy, as there are only two seasons in a year - the rainy season (May to October) and the hot season (November to April). The low season of phuket is between September and October as they are the wettest months. The best period for a visit, is from November to February, when it is possible to see the clear blue sky, feel the fresh sea breeze and marvel at the crystal clear water while lying on powdery, palm-fringed beaches. Average temperatures ranges between 23 degree and 33 degree.
Renting a Phuket Villa can be a daunting task, with literally thousands to choose from on the island, and more appearing every day it can be a difficult choice for many. Phuket villas come in all styles, sizes and in different locations around the island, from hill top locations offering panoramic views of the islands and the Andaman Sea, to beach front beach villas providing instant access to powdery white sand and azure calm seas.
When choosing a luxury villa guests must decide whether they want solitude or a more hectic atmosphere with hustle and bustle of street markets and beach activities. Luxury villas on the east coast offer the kind of peace and quiet that is more akin to Samui or Krabi. There is a sense of remoteness here, with traditional Thai fishing villages, and quiet serene beaches dotted along the coast.
The West coast is the far more recognized and notorious part of the island with luxury villas concentrated in Patong, Kamala, and Surin areas. Karon and Kata beaches also have some excellent choices for beach front accommodation. Villa estates such as The Samsara Estate, Phuket Pavilions, Baan Thai Surin Hill and The Plantation are gaining international recognition for their excellence both in terms of quality of surroundings and quality of service and value offered.
More secluded resorts nestle higher up amongst the trees in the center of this island, capitalizing on the wonderful sea and mountain views. With some of the most famous golfing in the world, Phuket villas in these locations are popular options for golfing fanatics. With such a developed infrastructure nothing is more than a 20 minute drive from these hill top locations.
With space becoming a commodity in much of Phuket, the South - once a neglected part of Phuket - is becoming more and more popular and with much more affordable prices than their more famous West coast counterparts. The 40 minute drive from the airport is enough to put most off traveling so far down the island, but those that do find beautiful beaches and headlands, great restaurants and their luxury villas amenities match anything on the island.
As people seek a new getaway for their vacation, resorts including Andaman Cove have become extremely popular offering not only luxury accommodation but amenities such as tennis courts, kid's clubs and trips to private islands offering their guests that something extra that few other places provide at such great value.

Pattaya Is An Excellent Destination To Enjoy A Number Of Activities
Pattaya is an enchanting tourist spot, situated in Chonburi Province, along a spectacular bay on the eastern coast of the Gulf of Thailand, about 150 km east of Bangkok, in Thailand. Once a sleepy fishing village, Pattaya has now been transformed into one of the premier beach resorts as well as a sought after vacation spots in South East Asia.
However, Pattaya holds the distinction of not only being a picturesque beach destination but also enjoys a status of a full fledged city. Occupying an area of about 209 square kilometers, Pattaya City possesses a status akin to that of a municipality, and is administered by a special autonomous system.
The prime draw of Pattaya is undoubtedly its long curving sandy beaches. Of the beaches in the area, perhaps the most prominent is Pattaya Neau, which is a tranquil beach that stretches from the Dolphin roundabout near Dusit Resort in North Pattaya up to small hill found in the south.
This beach area is truly a haven for enjoying an array of water sports. Also, a popular beach in the region is the Middle Pattaya, whose areas are packed with boutiques, department stores, restaurants, bars, and coffee shops. Likewise, tourists are provided with almost all facilities such as umbrellas, beach chairs, and more.
In short, Middle Pattaya is a not to miss attraction for fun lovers. Nearby Middle Pattaya is yet another popular beach, namely, South Pattaya, which is much famed for its intoxicate night life. Scores of bars, restaurants, shops, and discotheques can be seen in this area.
Popular beaches in Pattaya also include Jomtien Beach, just three kilometers away from the Pattaya Beach. Fringed with beautiful palm and coconut trees, Jomtien Beach is a great spot enjoying activities such as windsurfing and swimming. Koh Lan beach, about seven kilometers off the Pattaya shore, and Wong Beach, are the other prominent beaches in the area.
All these beaches together form base for a number of water sports activities including para gliding, para sailing, jet skiing, kayaking, and snorkeling. Additionally, for diving enthusiasts, even PADI and NAUI courses are available, apart from superb facilities for scuba diving.
However, things to do in Pattaya are not just confined to beaches as well as its activities, but far beyond that. For example, for those who are stressed or tired, one of the best options would be to take a traditional Thai massage and foot massage, which is great to cure backache and stimulate blood circulation throughout the body.
Likewise, if you have come to Pattaya for long stay, then take advantage of centers imparting special learning programs in Thai language as well as culture. One can also make use of Thai cooking classes offered by cooking schools and some restaurants within upscale hotels. Nowadays, tourists are increasingly showing interests in mastering the Thai culinary art, since Thai cuisines are not only delicious but also very healthy.
Apart from these, with more than 20 golf courses of international standards, Pattaya is truly a golfers' paradise. Similarly, superb facilities are available for such outdoor activities as tennis, trekking, and horse riding.
Other than outdoor activities, a great variety of indoor activities can also be enjoyed here such as paintball, which is played in an enclosed area; and bowling with two alleys of international standards.
When comes to things to see in attractions, options are really amazing as well as endless. Just few among many of the incredible attractions in the area are Phra Tamnak Hill, a vantage point to enjoy the breathtaking views of Pattaya; Million Years Stone Park and Pattaya Crocodile Farm, which holds attractions such as a good number of crocodiles, a zoo with an array of wild animals, topiaries, a petrified tree of a million-year-old, and a variety of grotesque rocks.
Sriracha Tiger Zoo, where you can see a number of tigers, pigs, and dogs, living comfortably; Mini Siam and Mini Europe, a miniature with more than 100 models of prominent objects as well as historical sites; Pattaya Elephant Sanctuary, a private sanctuary where one can interact with elephants and can see how they live as well as work.
Suan Nong Nooch, a Thai village like recreational park; and Khao Kheow Open Zoo, which is the largest zoo in Thailand. For ultimate recreation and fun, Pattaya offers attractions including Pattaya Water Park and Underwater World Pattaya. Above all, there is also a great number of interesting museums in the region, such as the Bottle Art Museum.
With these umpteen attractions, it is not a wonder why about five million tourists from across the world flock to this exotic destination year-round.

Mae Phim (Thailand) : An Unforgettable Destination
Of course, the beaches in Mae Phim are fantastic. White sand and crystal blue water await you at more than one of its beaches. Though such beaches are not uncommon in Thailand, what makes the ones in Mae Phim different is the fact that they still remain totally unspoiled. They still retain their natural charm and beauty, and have not been excessively filled with deck-chairs, or over-run with hawkers. Mae offers several great beaches for you to choose from. There is no need to spend all of your vacation lying on the same beach - you could go to a different one each day. By walking just 10 or so minutes from central Mae Phim, you can find yourself a nice, practically deserted, stretch of beach that you can have all to yourself.
In terms of accommodation, there is a great range available. Simple guest-house, luxurious hotels, and everything in between can be chosen from. The most popular option though is a vacation rental home, whereby someone who owns a property in Mae Phim rents it out to tourists when they are not living in it themselves. There are some truly fantastic homes available to rent - private swimming pools, several bedrooms, widescreen TVs, etc. On arrival, and having unpacked your bags, you should take a stroll around the town center. Charming and authentic, but pleasingly modern, are the words that best sum it up. All modern amenities are available there, but they come with a Thai twist rather than being bland and boring.
The food is wonderful, the bars are great for sipping cocktails in as the sun comes down, and the shops are perfect for picking up unique souvenirs for your friends back home. Having been there for a day, you will feel completely relaxed and comfortable. By the time it comes to go home, you may well be tempted to buy your own vacation home in Mae Phim!

Settling on Your Vacation Destination
If you are planning to take a vacation, be sure to know what you really like to do, this will make your trip more meaningful. Mostly, travelers go for a trip that their friends recommend, but is it what they really want? It's never too early to plan and know what your heart desires.
It's nice to ask yourself these questions before starting to plan your vacation; do I want to relax? Do I want adventure or a learning experience? Do I want to get away from my job? Once you know the answers to these questions, then you are ready to plan your trip.
Vacations are needed for our emotional, physical and mental balance. Vacations give a person a chance to relax, renew his energy, and free him from his daily routine. Vacations could be far away or close to home. Wherever the vacation may be, it does the same thing. It is the satisfaction that is more important than the destination.
Generally, there are some different types of travel according to activities involved. Here are some of them:
1. Responsible Travel. Traveling doesn't always have to be self-serving. With responsible travel, one could have enjoyment as much as respecting the local environment and the people.
2. Rediscovering nature. Rediscovering travel is all about nature and everything in it. It revitalizes the soul while smelling and feeling nature.
3. Tribal cultures. In today's world of high technology, it is wise to experience the simpler life of the tribal people who live close to nature in the same way for the past thousands of years.
4. Responsible Diving. Diving not only let travelers appreciate what is down the sea but also making the traveler more aware of the conservation effort.
The country one is planning to travel to also leaves a great mark on the traveler's diary. Here are some of the most popular destinations today:
1. Thailand. Thailand is also known as Siam. It is an Asian country bounded by Burma, Laos, Cambodia, and Malaysia. Behind the back draft of Thailand's jungles of bamboo, rubber trees and vines are the Five-star hotels of modern conveniences. In some parts of the country, elephants are still being use to lift timbers and buffalos are still being use in farming.
2. China. China is now the second largest country and fastest growing economy in the world. Most parts of China are still unexplored by tourist; however, the eastern portion is now popular to western tourist. First class hotels now offer highest class of amenities and dozens are still being built/
3. Italy. Italy is a boot-like shape country bounded by Switzerland, Austria, France, and Slovenia. The main attraction of Italy is St. Peter's Square where the Pope resides.
4. Caribbean. Caribbean is an archipelago of islands, 2000 square miles across. Most of the islands are plateaus and eruptions of underlying mountain systems. It has nice beaches of crushed coral and white or pink sand and the water at the shore is a deep blue.
The success of any vacation will not depend by how much the traveler spent or its destination. It is how the traveler enjoyed it and how he was able to achieve his primary goal of "getting away from it all."
